Witt was born October 24, 1929 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Mary Jane and James Monroe Witt. He passed away February 18, 2007 at Sweetwater, OK at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 24 days. A,B. attended school in Sayre, Hardesty and Meridian where he graduated in 1947. He continued to live in the Meridian area, farming with his dad. He was married to Laurellen (Cardin) Witt at Wheeler, Texas on October 31, 1950. They continued living, farming and ranching around Meridian and raised their family. He attended the Sweetwater Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 grandson, Chris Schmidt, 1 great grandson, Trenten Isaac Schmidt, 3 sons-in-law, Jimmy Schmidt, Ted Burckhalter and Mike Mong. He is survived by his wife, Laurellen, of the home; 3 daughters, Laura Nell Mong, Elk City, OK, Linda Burckhalter and Jim Edwards, Sweetwater, OK, aned Vonda Wells and husband, Kerry, Canby, Oregon; grandchildren, Shay and Jamie Mong, Jason and Heather Mong, Sharisa and Jack Heird, Julie and Brent Skelton, Ben and April Burckhalter, Brandi Blevins, Michelle Schmidt, Justin and Rebekah Walls and Lauretta Walls; great grandchildren, Taylor, Tanner, Mackenzie, & Mason, Jacey, Kaley & LextoN Mong, McKenna Archer, Cody Skelton, Nathan Dunlap, & Ethan Schmidt, Austy, & Avery Blevins, Stryder Walls, & Addyson Burckhalter, & Destaney Edwards. Among several people they took, in their home in their married life, Jim Emert, Sabrina Armer and husband, Daniel, and their four children Brandon, Shelby, Landon and Courtney, a host of other relatives and friends. A memorial celebration will be held Thursday Febtruary 22, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Sweetwater Assembly of God Church officiated by Laura Nell Mong and assisted by J.M. Ashley and Jack Covey with Shay Mong giving an Eulogy. Burial will be at Buffalo Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral service, Sayre.
