Whitson, 50, Grandfield, was at 2 p.m. in Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Dwight Parker, minister of Grandfield Church of Christ, officiating. Mr. Whitson died Sunday in a Lawton hospital. Burial was in the Devol Cemetery. Mr. Whitson was born July 26, 1937 in Moorewood, Oklahoma. He graduated from Hammon High School in 1965 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served on the USS Yorktown and was honorably discharged in 1959. Mr. Whitson and Bessie Janice Page were married July 17, 1964 in Moorewood. He was employed by the MKT and Union Pacific Railroads until his retirement in 1990, after 27 years of service. He moved to Grandfield in 1978. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Wayne Whitson, Grandfield; a daughter, Nancy Whitson, Grandfield; his mother, Theo Whitson, Enid; two brothers, Lloyd, Enid; and Bill, Sacramento, California; two sisters, Grace Chappel, Durham, Oklahoma and Addie Whitson, Enid, Oklahoma and a grandchild.
