George Able Watson was born on March 18, 1872 at the house that was the second oldest fort in the Shanandoah Valley of Virginia. He passed from us March 14, 1933 at 4:30 A.M. lacking four days of being 61 years old. He was the third of ten children, six of whom are still living. While attending college at Milligan, Tennessee he met Miss Edna Thomas. He graduated from this institution in 1900 and served as pastor of several churches in the Shanandoah Valley and other parts of Virginia, one of which, in the Tidwater district of Virginia was the home church of Alexander Campbell. He came west in 1907 and married Miss Edna Marian Thomas of Durham, Oklahoma. He returned with his bride to Virginia where they stayed 18 months. In 1909, on account of his health he left the pulpit and they came west to the farm. To this union were born three girls, Floy Virginia, Georgia Margaret and Edna Kathleen all of Durham, Oklahoma. He leaves to mourn his going his wife, Mrs. Edna Watson, his three daughters, Floy; Margaret and Kathleen; four brothers, Charley, Joseph and Walter all of Virginia and Ben E. of Pasadena, California; two sisters Emma Ritter and Carrie Dudley both of Virginia, and a host off other relatives and friends.
