He departed this life February 12, 1962 at the Veterans Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. He was 67 years of age. When a small boy he moved with his parents to Dallas, Texas. There his mother passed away. His father also preceded him in death, also 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Survivors are 3 brothers, George Wylie of Arkansas City, Kansas, R.L. Wylie of Durham and Sam Wylie of Oklahoma City and 1 sister, Nannie Keller of Durham; and a host of nieces and nephews. After the death of his wife in Tampa, Florida in 1960 he came to Durham, Oklahoma and made his home with his sister, Nannie Keller. He was a veteran of World War 1 and received the Purple Heart and other medals of honor. He was a retired railroad man. A large crowd of relatives and friends attended his funeral services at Durham.
