Wilson, Durha, died Thursday noon August 24, 1967 in the Cheyenne hospital following a short illness. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Durham community building, with Joe Laird and Leland Burch officiating. Born June 9, 1890, in Hamilton County, Texas, he was married December 25, 1913 to Carrie M. Owens at Hollis. He came to Roger Mills County in 1923 from Beaver county and had resided there since. He was a life time member of the Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Carrie, of the home; two daughters Mrs. Cleta G. Estes, Oklahoma City, Mrs. Winona Fae Thomas, Durham; two sisters Mrs. Bertha Owen, Hollis, Mrs. Ozella Hundley, Portland, Oregon, Henry Wilson, Hollis; six grandchildren, one foster granddaughter, 15 great grandchildren. Interment was in the Fairview cemetery, Durham, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Scroggins and Son Funeral Home in charge. He departed this life to be with his savior August 24, 1967 in the Roger Mills Memorial Hospital at the age of 77 years, 2 months and 15 days. On December 25, 1913 he was united in marriage to Carrie Mae Owens at Hollis, Oklahoma. To this union were born two daughters, Mrs. Glenn Estes of Oklahoma City and Mrs. Bruce Thomas of Durham, Oklahoma. He moved his family to Balko, Oklahoma in 1922 and remained faithful in the work of the Lord. They came to Durham in 1923 and with the help of Bro. Nobblet and Bro. Guy E.. Gabbert, they established the Church of Christ in this community. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Carrie, two daughters, 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, two brothers, and two sisters. Robert of Portland, Oregon; Henry of Hollis, Oklahoma; Mrs. Ozella Hundley of Hollis and a host of other relatives and friends.
