Still, Oklahoma, with Rev. Nicky Blackford, pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church officiating. He was assisted by W.H. Berry, Lay minister, Littlefield, Texas; Rev. Ralph Hooper, Lawton, and Rev. Royce Little, Pastor of Wesley Chapel Southwest Lawton. Mrs. Wilson died early Friday morning May 18, 1979 in a Lawton hospital. She was a victim of crippling arthritis, but she managed to stay movile during her long years of suffering. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and had a great sense of humor and an unusual talent for entertaining. She leared to play the organ after she had had surgery on her fingers and spent houjrs playing those "heavenly notes" as she so lovingly called them. Iris was born November 8, 1920, in Hammon to Bernard and Mary Savage. She was married to Ramey E. Wilson, November 28, 1942, in Lawton. She received a B A Degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She was a former teacher in Hammon during the time her husband served in World War II. She also did some teaching in Japan during that tour of duty. Survivors are her husband, retired Lt. Col. Ramey E. Wilson, of the Lawton home; two sons, Major Paul Wilson, U.S. Marine pilot, Kaiula, Hawaii, and Ted Wilson, a medical student, Norman; one daughter, Tanni Wilson, a medical student, Norman; one grandchild, Kailua, Hawaii; her mother, Mrs. E.B. Savage, of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; three sisters, Lorena Males and Glena Belle Crane, Cheyenne, Marge Heeney of Topeka, Kansas; and a cousing who made her home with the Savage family, Mary Nell Kline, Alameda, California; three brothers, Eugene Savage, Cheyenne, Lew Savage of Dallas, Texas and Ted Savage of Ada, Oklahoma.
