She passed away October 7, 2003 in the Ochiltree General Hospital, Perryton, Texas at the age of 88 years, 6 months and 23 days. Arista moved with her parents to Ellis County in 1929 where she graduated from Arnett High School. She was married to Victor Oren Stroup and they lived in the Crawford community in Roger Mills County. Victor passed away in October of 1958. She later married Roy Eugene Wilson and they lived in Arnett, Oklahoma where they operated a dairy. Gene passed away in 1980. Arista moved to Perryton, Texads in May of 2000 to make her home. She attended the United Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, 14 siblings, 2 great grandsons, Michael Roark and his wife, Skyla and Shane Roark. Services were held Saturday October 11, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cheyenne First Baptist Church, officiated by Fred King. Burial was held at Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Survivords include 2 daughters, Audna Blasingame of Sweetwater, Oklahoma and Sue Snell of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; 2 sons Vertis Stroup of Perryton, Texas and Rodney Stroup of Arnett, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
