Irma was living in a rest home near her daughters Victoria Davis Smith and Marcia Davis Smith, Seattle, Washington and Rudley, California. Marcia wrote: "Mother got pneumonia and spent a week in the hospital, but it was a losing battle for her." "We had a lovedly memorial service at the Foss Rest Home. The pastor suggested that we bring photos and it was such a nice way to share her with all of her friends there. They were able to see how she looked through all the wonderful stages of an exceptionally rich life." Irma Davis Wallem was one of the persons chosen as an Outstanding Person From Roger Mills County in the book "Cemeteries and More" By Glena Belle Crane. Also from Marcia Smith. "We used the biography from your cemetery book at Mother's service. The pastor read it so beautifully. "Thank you," Marcia. Irma Davis Wallem was one of Roger Mills County's greatest personalities. She continued to grow from the time she graduated from Southwestern and came to Hammon to teach school. She became a famour artist, as well as famous writer, and continued to teach until she retired.
