She was the daughter of Otha and Lovie Long. She grew up on the family farm east of Leedey and attended school in Leedey where she graduated in 1934. She spent the next two years living with her grandmother Long in Piedmont, Oklahoma. She returned to Leedey in 1936 and on December 24, 1938 was united in marriage to Eugene Williams in the home of Rev. I.G. Engle. They moved to the farm northeast of Leedey where they lived 46 years before retiring. Four children were born to this union, Jerry, Joy, Delane and Rada Sue. In the following years Gene and Flossie drove a school bus, operated a filling station, and owned and operated a restaurant for 10 years. In 1971 they sold their cafe but continued to live on the farm until 1984 when they moved to Leedey. They loved to travel and were fortunate enough to see 36 of the 50 states including Hawaii and Alaksa, as well as Mexico and Canada. For eleven years they spent their winters in Port Isabel in South Texas. They met and enjoyed friendships with people from all over the U.S., Canada and Mexico. In June and July of 1995, she and her beloved sister-in-law, Mary Kirk Dreben, fulfilled her lifelong dream of traveling abroad by touring England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. In August 1954, Flossie dedicated her life to the Lord and became a member of the First Baptist Church. She had worked in Bible school, served on various committees and taught Sunday School classes for over 30 years. Serving the Lord was something she especially enjoyed doing. Her love of the Lord was carried over into her family life by helping to form a strong family bond. A family that has always been rich in belssings and love. Working in her yard and flower garden also gave her a great deal of pleasure. She loved sharing the beauty of her flowers with others.
