Williams were conducted on Tuesday, February 9, 1988 at 2 p.m. in the Martin Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ed Suncier and Rev. Bill Atherton officiating. Burial followed in the New Hermon Cenetery southeast of Leedey. Frank C. Williams was born at Moorewood on March 24, 1917 to Charlie and Maggie Williams. He died February 6, 1988 in Oklahoma City at the age of 70. He attended school at Moorewood, Oklahoma. Mr. Williams was married to Mary Wherritt on February 15, 1938. To this union was born three children, Peggy, Fred, and Penny. Frank and Mary raised Hereford cattle and farmed in the Moorewood community for 49 years. He served as Election Board Inspector for 42 years in Red Star. He was saved and joined the Moorewood church in 1938 of which he served as song leader and choir director for over 30 years, Sunday School teacher and teaching his family whom he loved very much. Mr. Williams enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He was a devoted and loving father. He and his wife moved to Elk City in November of 1986 where they had lived since. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors are his wife, Mary, of the home; children, Fred and Billie Williams and KaCee of Warner; Peggy and Billy Cox, Terry, Larry, and fiance Sandy Balden, David and fiancee Melissa Yarger of Duncan; Penny and Scott Haynes of Elk City; sister and brother-in-law, Zula and Doug Anderson of Clinton; brother-in-law, Allen Wherritt of Camargo; and sisters-in-law, Frances Whirrett of Enid and Ina Wherritt of Thomas.
