She was born May 21, 1887 in Missouri. She had lived in Canadian for a number of years before moving to Vinita in 1936. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Her husband, Ben Wheeler, died in 1963. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Tillie Highland of Vinita, Mrs. Alene Billings of Des Moines, Iowa, and Mrs. Nanola Allen of Springdale, Arkansas; four sons, Leo W. of Higgins, Texas, Dow of Canadian, Texas, Joe of Higgins, and Ben of Stratford, Texas; 22 grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Mrs Nancy White of Vinita, Oklahoma and Mrs. Nola Hendryx of Coffeyville, Kansas; and two brothers, Bill and Charles Walker of Vinita. Funeral services were held Friday, September 13, in the Calvary Baptist Church wit the Rev. Max Pendley officiating. Burial was in the Fairview cemetery in Vinita, Oklahoma.
