The son of William and Sarah Wheeler, he departed this life January 6, 1961 at his home in Canadian, Texas at the age of 71 years and 8 moths. He moved with his parents to Rankin, Oklahoma in 1913. He was united in marriage to Myrtle Walters, March 28, 1915. To this union five children were born: Elmo and Tony of Canadian, Texas; Paul of El Centro, California: Clyce of Tunic, Greece, and Mrs. Patsy Murray of Pampa, Texas. Funeral services were at the First Baptist Church in Canadian of which he was a member. Rev. Sanford Cole officiating. He was laid to rest in the Canadian, Texas cemetery. Pall bearers were his nephews Dow, Joe and Dillard Wheeler, Pete and Benny Burks and Bob Richardson. His father, mother, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of the home address, five children, 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, one brothe Ben of Vinita, Oklahoma, three sisters, Mrs. Alice Moon of Bado, Missouri, Mrs. Molly Burks of Fullerton, California and Mrs. Grace Richardson of Reydon, Oklahoma.
