Winn with his wife and three young boys. He took a claim in the Red Moon vicinity and when most everyone was still living in a dugout, Mr. Winn had built a neat framed house and a commodious barn and had a fruitful orchard growing. Mr. Winn was born in Kentucky, January 31, 1837. His first wife died leaving a son, who lives in Kansas and a daughter who lives in Illinolis. He later married Mary Jane Prather and to this union were born five children all of whom are living. He joined the Christian church about twenty-five years ago, on account of failing health he went with Mrs. Winn to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ella Munger of Plainview, Texas as where death awaited him early Easter morning. He was 84 years, 1 month and 27 days old. With his life so full of years it was fitting to close it when the year was young, the day only begun and the season on when life springs from death. His sons, Ben and John were not present, but Charley, Will and his daughter Ella followed him in his last resting place in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
