All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Berlin Cemetery--Berlin OK The Elk City Daily News, Sunday, February 8, 1976 Cleo Walker Services Set Funeral services for Cleo Walker will be held from the Martin Funeral Chapel Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Bill Anderson of Oklahoma City and Rev. Garland Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in the Berlin cemetery. Mr. Walker was born in the Nine Mile community in Roger Mills County Sept. 24 1911. He died in the Community Hospital at the age of 64 years, 4 months and 12 days. He grew up and attended school in the Herring community. Farming and ranching was his main interest. He was presently owner and operator of the service station and grocery store at the intersection of State Highway 6 and 283. He was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church. On Oct. 10, 1936 he was married to Bessie Larue Stout in Cheyenne. He was past president of the Berlin Saddle Club. He lived his entire(sic) life in Beckham and Roger Mills Counties. Survivors include his wife of the home, 3 sons, Dale Walker of Elk City, Don Walker in the Panama Canal Zone, and Robert Walker, a student at Southwestern in Weatherford, 2 daughters, Jeanetta W. Jackson of Ragland, Ala., and Tamie of the home; 2 brothers, Ralph Walker of Hammon and Herman Walker of Pomona, Calif.; one sister Mrs. Letha Higgins of Elk City, and 7 grandchildren. ========= The Cheyenne Star, Thursday, February 12, 1976, pg 6 REYDON HAPPENINGS Cleo Walker, Sayre, former Reydon, resident West of town died Friday in the Elk City, Hospital. He leaves, his wife LaRue, 3 sons and 2 daughters. The funeral was Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Elk City. Mrs. Walker's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Stout and children moved with the F. M. Mattlage family from, Rowena, Texas to Herring, Roger Mills County in 1918. Miss Nellie, Mrs. Frank Millar, Miss Edna (Mrs. E.B. Morton) Okla.
