All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Red Hill Cemetery--Hammon OK The Elk City Daily News, Friday, November 21, 1947 Leedey Woman Dies In Local Hospital, Services Pending Funeral services are pending for Mrs. Estella Walker of Leedey who died at a local hospital on Wednesday, Nov. 19. She was born in Oklahoma(sic) on Nov. 10 1888 and was married to L. F. Walker of Hammon on July 8, 1906. They came to Roger Mills county five years ago. She was a member of the Church of God. She is survived by her husband, and children ñ Mrs. Letha Higgins of Loma Linda, Calif., Ralph Walker of Carpenter, Cleo and Herman Walker, both of Leedey and 12 grandchildren. Other survivors include Mrs. Will Boulware of Hammon, Mrs. L. H. Allen of Cushing, Mrs. A. G. Stone of Galena, Kansas, sisters; Clarence Hammons(sic), Cushing, L. W. Hammons(sic) of Camas, Wash. Rev. Gore will have charge of the funeral the date of which cannot be set until the arrival of relatives. Burial will be made in the Red Hill cemetery under the direction of the Martin-Hullum directors. ========= The Hammon Advocate, Thursday, December 4, 1947, pg 1 OBITUARY Estella Walker was born November 10, 1888 at Hozen(sic), Ark., and departed this life November 19, 1947, at the age of 59 years and 9 days in an Elk City hospital. She was married to Lewis F. Walker of Hammon on July 8, 1906. She was a member of of(sic) the Church of God. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Letha Higgins, Loma Linda, Calif.; three sons, Ralph Walker, Carpenter, Cleo and Herman Walker, Leedey; 12 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Will Boulware Hammon, Mrs. L. H. Allen, Cushing, Mrs. A. G. Stone, Galena, Kan.; two brothers, Clarence Hammon(sic), Cushing, L. W. Hammon(sic), Comas Wash.; her mother, Mrs. E. A. Hammon(sic), Cushing. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at Leedey, Saturday, November 22, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Walter Gore in Charge. Burial was in the Red Hill cemetery.
