"Jeff" and Mary Drucilla Watson, was born on August 15, 1892 at Roby, Texas and departed this life January 18, 1972 while in the Roger Mills Memorial Hospital of Cheyenne Oklahoma. He was 79 years, 5 months and 3 days of age at the time of his passing. Mr. Watson grew to manhood in the Leedey area and spent the earlier years of his life engaqged in farming. He later moved to the area of Truth or Consequrences, New Mexico. Here he enjoyed the freedom of the great outdoors working as a ranchand. On August 24, 1948, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Ola (Minnie) Creley. They established their home in the Truth or Consequences area until Mrs. Watson's death of October 28, 1965. Soon after his wife's death, Mr. Watson returned to Leedey. While residing here, he transferred his church membership to the United Methodist Church of Leedey. Those left to cherish the memory of his life are his brothers - Guy Watson of Vici, Jeff Watson of Shattuck and Clarence Watson of Leedey; his sister, Eula Bryan of Gray, Oklahoma; 6 stepchildren, 9 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, all of whom reside near Anchorage, Alaska; other dear relatives and a host of friends. He will be remembered by those who knew him for his honorable and upright life. Services for Mr. Watson were held Saturday, January 22, 1972 at 2:00 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Leedey. Services were conducted by the Shaw Funeral Home of Leedey. Reverend John Paul King, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiated at the services. Burial was in Center Point Cemetery at Leedey.
