She came to Roger Mills County, with her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. John Buchanan Martin, at the age of 14, where she later met and married Emmett Morris in 1907. To this union 4 sons and 2 daughters were born. They were engaged in ranching and farming business west of Cheyenne for in 1907. To this union 4 sons and Bentonville, Arkansas, back to Cheyenne, to New Mexico and later to Fresno, California. Her husband preceded her in death 28 years. In 1934 they moved from in 1947. She later married Dan Welsh and they moved to Palacios, Texas where they resided until her death February 6, 1966 after a lengthy illness of 2 months. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was faithful to her church, home, family and friends. Her services and burial were at Palacios, Texas. She left to mourn her passing, her husband Dan, 4 sons and wives, her children: James, Atwater, California, Alice, Yakima, Washington, L. D., Grimes, Oklahoma, John, Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Amy, Keruns, and Bob, Yuma, Arizona, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and five sisters, Minnie, San Bernardino, California, May Stevenson, Bristow, Oklahoma, Jewel Harvard, Lessie White, Oklahoma City and Ethel Graves of Macon, Georgia.
