Mr. White was born March 10, 192 in Romney, Texas. He was the eldest of three children born to Maggie Delphined McCracken and John Willis White. Jack had been a resident of Pampa, Texas since 1936. He was a graduate of Pampa High School in 1941, and served in the Army Air Corps from 1942-1945. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1949 with a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering. After college, he worked on the Hungry Horse Dam Prjoect in Montana. He married Betty Jean Edgington on October 1, 1955 at the Magnolia Baptist Church in Crawford, Oklahoma. He was a registered Texas Professional Engineer and a member of numerous professional organizations. He retired from Celanese in 1985 as a project engineer after 32 years of service. He also enjoyed spending time on the family farm in Crawford, Oklahoma. Jack was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pampa, where he served on several church committees, including the building committe for the west education building. He was chairman of the deacons, a Sunday school teacher, served as president of the Baptist men, and went on a crusade to Brazil. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son Gregory Kim White on January 21, 1966. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean of the home; a son, Paul Mark White of Crawford; a daughter, Betty Katherine Amerson and husband Rick of Los Altos, California and many other relatives and friends. The funeral service was held Monday morning, January 15, 2007 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, Texas, followed by a graveside service at Fairview Cemetery, Durham, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Following the graveside service, a reception was hosted by the First Baptist Church at Durham, Oklahoma.
