Mr. Yell worked in the coal mines from 12-19 years of age then moved to Oklahoma Territroy in 1900. In 1901 he moved to Lyra, Texas living there until 1926 when he moved to Borger, Texas. On September 5, 1964 he was married to Edith Sanve Cox in Grimes, Oklahoma, from that time they made their home in Grimes. Mr. Yell was a retired oil filed employee, a member of the First Christian Church of Elk City and a member of the Masonic Lodge #1242 of Borger, Texas. Preceding him in death were his parents, 3 sisters and 3 brothers. Survivors include his wife, Edith of the home, 1 daughter, Ann Lee Cox of Midwest City, Oklahoma, 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 1 sister, Leone Cator of Amarillo, Texas, and 1 brother, J.R. Yell of Dumas, Texas. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, morning, December 9, 1986 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Sayre with John Bloss officiating. Interment followed in the Wayland Cemetery. Active Pallbearers were; George Bryan, Jack Brown, Benji Olson, Bill Olson, Jack Thompson and Earl Tucker. Honorary pallbearers were: S.C.
