In 1904 Chester moved with his family to a farm north of Roll, Oklahoma. In 1912 his mother passed away leaving his father and their three sons. He was united in marriage to May Merritt and to this union was born two children a daughter Deltha Mae, and a son, Chester Ray Young, Jr. In 1934, his wife passed away leaving him and the 2 children. In 1936, he was united to Lenora Hammons. To this union was born 3 sons, Bobby Doyal, Rickey Dwight, and Terry Dale. In 1946 they moved to a farm south of Bethume and resided there until 1960 when he retired and moved into Bethume. Chester passed away August 5, 1974 at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Deltha, in 1966 and by his brother, Fred, in 1974. He is survived by his wife, Lenora, of Bethume, Colorado, his brother, John of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, four sons and their wives, Chester Ray, Jr. of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Bobby Doyal of Burlington, Rickey Dwight of Imperial, Nebraska and Terry Dale of Castle Rock, Colorado, three grandsons, five granddaughters, and a host of relatives and friends.
