Interment will follow in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Elk City. Vina Dee Young was born February 27, 1933 at Cheyenne, Oklahoma to Robert and Zadia Bradley Cunningham and passed away Friday April 30, 2004 at the age of 71. She moved with her family to Granite where she attended school before moving back to Cheyenne. She was married to Thurmon Fra Young on January 16, 1952 at Clovis, New Mexico. They established their first home in the Red Moon Community before moving back to Cheyenne where she owned and operated the Western Breeze Drive In. The Youngs moved to Elk City in 1971 where they have lived since. Mr. Young preceded her in death on March 24, 1988. Vina was a longtime member of the Church of Christ and the Women's Auxiliary of the VFW. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Survivors include 3 sons, Manuel Young and his wife Zela of Sunray, Texas, Frank Young and his wife Sheryl of Elk City and Dennis Young of Elk City, 6 grandchildren, Kristen Young, Sheryl Timms, Elizabeth Young, Terry Stone, Tyler Young and David Timms, 4 great grandchildren and a special niece who was raised as a sister, Delores Beck.
