Bill, the son of Luther Albert and Harriet Leona York moved with his parents to Sayre in 1941. On September 22, 1952 he married Estella Baldwin in Clovis, New Mexico and they moved to Sayre where they owned and operated the York Body Shop since 1968. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister and 1 brother. He is survived by his wife, Estella of the home; 1 daughter and son- in-law Connie and Mike Lubbers of Van Alstyne, Texas; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Tammy of El Reno, Oklahoma, Russell and Denice and Calvin and Norma, all of Sayre, Oklahoma, Lonnie York of Leedey, Oklahoma; 4 sisters, Bobbie Mayfield of Sayre, Oklahoma, Lela Ann Smith of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Nancy Atwood of Elk Reno, Oklahoma, Jane Niblett of Houston, Texas; 11 grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Thursday, March 30, 1989 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with Tom Cooksey and Lynn Heard officiating.
