Ashley and Jack Covey. Burial will be at Mulberry Cemetery, Sweetwater, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service. Durwood Milton York was born September 4, 1916 in Paducah, Texaas, to Florence and Seymour York and died Sunday December 29, 2002 in Oklahoma Ciy at the age of 86. Durwood moved with his family to Eastview community west of Willow. He attended school in Eastview before marrying Ruth Barker of Erick, on December 25, 1937, they made their home at Sweetwater, where they farmed, ranched and 9perated a dairy farm for 30 years. He retired May of 1988 and moved to Hydro. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, five brothers and two grandsons, Sammy and Shaw York. Survivors include his wife Ruth ofthe home; four daughters, Kula York of Elk City, Paula McKay and husband Boyd of Wichita Falls, Texas, Cheryl Keevert of Hydro, Phyllis McEntire of Sweetwater; one son, Ronnie York and wife Megan of Hydro; one sister, Hazel Daniels of Bella Vista, Arkansas, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
