He passed from this life on OIctober 3, 2005 at the age of 87 years. Floyd began his grade school education in Texamo School and completed his high school education at Moorewood High School graduating with the class of 1935. Floyd lived for a short period of time in Oklahoma City where he met then later married Lorene May Brotherton on August 17, 1944. Their marriage was blessed with the birth of two children, Marilyn Kay and Floyd Martin. Floyd and Lorene briefly made their home in Oklahoma City before moving to Hammon, Oklahoma were they continue to make their home to this day. Floyd dearly loved the Lord, and was baptized on August 17, 1958. He was a faithful member, and Deacon, of the Moorewood Missionary Baptist Church. Floyd's life long career was in farming and ranching. When not working th farm, he had a special interest in and enjoyed doing woodworking projects. Floydx was preceded in death by his parents, A.N. and Mable Zimms; by a brother, Elvin L. Zimms; and a sister, Ruth Ann Quattlebaum. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lorene of the home in Moorewood, Oklahoma, his children, Marilyn Kay Gwartney and husband Jimmie of Earlsboro, Oklahoma and Floyd Martin Zimms and wife Lynda of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; by six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great- great grandchild; by a brother, Elmer Orville Zimms of Canute, Oklahoma; and by many friends.
