H. Bassmann, Claremore W H. BASSMANN PASSED AWAY Pioneer Attorney Passed Away in Tulsa Hospital, Dec. 31; Services Monday In the waning hours of 1943, just a few minutes before the old year gave way to the new, W. H. Bassmann passed away in St. John's hospital, Tulsa, where he had been ill for only a few days. Death came quietly to this pioneer Claremore attorney at 11:40 p.m., December 31. He had been in failing health for more than a year and had suffered a succession of light strokes. Death immediately followed a cerebral hemmorhage [sic]. He was taken to the hospital Thursday morning when his condition became critical. Bassmann is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Bassmann of the home address in Claremore, two sons, G. Raymond Bassmann also of Claremore and Pvt. Willard L. Bassmann of the U. S. Army, who is at present stationed at Fort Custer, Michigan; one daughter, Mrs. Paul A. Bryan, of Tulsa; a brother, George C. Bassmann of Jefferson City, Mo., and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Gerald and Thurlow. Funeral services were held from the Methodist church, Monday, January 3 at 2:30 p.m., under direction of Thornhill funeral home with Rev. A. B. Hickman in charge. Interment was made at Woodlawn cemetery. Pallbearers were: Bert Sprangel, Earl Briggs, J. M. Curry, R. F. Knight, H. O.
