She was 66. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, 2002 at Wards Grove Cemetery in Foyil with Rev. Jimmy Louis, Assembly of God, officiating. Verna was born Sept. 11, 1936 in Claremore to Floyd and Louise (Acord) Jones. She graduated from Claremore High School and married James T. Boshears on March 26, 1955 in Claremore. She was retired from General Telephone, where she worked in the business office and later in Network Construction. After her retirement, she enjoyed being a housewife and mother. She loved to garden and enjoyed bird watching. She was preceded in death by her parents. Verna is survived by her husband, James of the home near Foyil; son, James M. Boshears of Claremore; daughter, Vicki Lynn Cowell of Claremore; sisters, Nina Cody of Modesto, Calif., and Patricia Louis of Pryor; four grandchildren; and seven nieces and nephews.
