Georgia was born to James and Gertrude Hefner Reynolds on April 20, 1920 in Manhattan, Mont. She was reared and educated in Manhattan and after graduating from Manhattan High School, met and married Willie Berry. The couple soon moved to a farm in Vinita and became the proud parents of three children. They made Vinita their home until Mr. Berry's passing in 1957. Georgia, who had never worked outside the home or learned to drive a car, chose to further her education and begin a career in nursing. She did this while two of her children were still in high school. After completing nursing studies in Miami to receive her LPN certification, she went to work in Vinita. She met and married Bill Boyd and they made their home in Oologah briefly before moving to Claremore. Georgia began working at Claremore Regional Hospital, retiring at the age of 62 after many years of service there. Georgia was a young-at-heart mother who loved to participate in whatever her children were doing. She was particularly fond of skating and when she wasn't working, she could often be found at the rink, having a great time. She was a good example of love and caring, selflessness and generosity. She is survived by her children, son, Francis Berry of Canadian, south of Eufaula; daughters, Eunice Crabtree of Paso Robalas, Calif., and Janette Tiger of Tulsa; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hope Vandyken and Monty Vincent of Montana; five step-children, whom she considered her very own, Vicki Echols of Langley, Margaret Gregory of Vinita, Dale Boyd of Texas, Doyle Boyd of Colorado and Doug Boyd of Wisconsin. Her parents, her first husband, infant son Stephen, two sisters and two brothers preceded her. ************************************************************************* Transcribed from the Claremore Progess Newspaper, we sincerely thank them for allowing us to post these obits on the Rogers Co., OK USGenwebpages http://www.claremoreprogress.com/ *************************************************************************
