Alta Valena Boyd

PAMPA - Alta Valena Boyd, 94, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 1998, at Panhandle.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fairview Cemetery with the 
Rev. Lynn Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Full Gospel Church, officiating. 
Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Boyd was born in Nottinghill, Mo., and moved to the Texas Panhandle 
in 1923 from Talala, Okla. She married W.L. Boyd in Skiatook, Okla. They 
farmed southwest of White Deer. After his death in 1943 she continued to 
operate the farm. She also worked in a restaurant and cared for the 
elderly. She was a longtime resident of White Deer before moving to Pampa 
in 1980. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include three sons, George James Boyd and Arlie Deano Boyd, both 
of Pampa, and Clyde William Boyd of Stinnett; nine grandchildren; 20 
greatgrandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
