Chaplain Lance Howling will officiate. Earla passed away on Friday, Dec. 6, 2002. She was 63. On April 1, 1939 in Ionia, Mich., Earla was born to Elton and Marion Hemstret Apsey. She was reared and educated in both Gladwin and Bay City, Mich. Six children blessed Earla's home and she worked hard to provide for them. She managed a service station and on Saturdays, the children could be found there, lending a helping hand. Earla was a giving person who always found a way to meet others' needs. In recent years, she spent time in several of her children's homes and was a tremendous help with her grandchildren. She was compassionate and tenderly cared for good friend, Loyd Dozier, following an accident. Earla is survived by her children, David Apsey of Gillett, Wisc., Leslie Barkley of Florenance, Ariz., Gladys Kamler of Catoosa, Beatrice Amick of Delaware, Okla., and Jeffrey Bailey of Broken Arrow; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; companion, Loyd Dozier; siblings, June Buck and Barbara Van Buren, both of Bay City, Mich., Elaine Morse of Holt, Mich., Elton Apsey of Colorado Springs, Colo., Robert Hager and Sheryl Doan, both of Gladwin, Mich.
