Rev. James Duffell and Rev. Larry McDonald will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Haven Memorial Gardens in Claremore. Services are under the direction of Key Funeral Home of Pryor. Blackwell was born Jan. 22, 1921 in Claremore. He died March 13, 2003 in Tulsa. The son of Austin and Leola (Hebbe) Blackwell, Jesse grew up and attended school in Locust Grove. He served in C.C. Camp, National Guard and the U.S. Army. He was married to Elizabeth Ann Dooley on March 11, 1950 in Locust Grove. Jesse was a truck owner/operator hauling heavy equipment nation-wide. He began his trucking career in 1950 retiring in 2000 due to ill health. His hobbies included watching classic westerns, but most of all just being with his family. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all that shared in his life. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth of the home; sons Gary Blackwell and wife Debbie of Claremore and Jack Blackwell and wife Robin of Salina; daughter Kathy Robinson and husband Lou of Pryor; eight grand- children and 11 great-grandchildren; and sister Helen Lamb of Inola.
