Burial followed in the Garden of Love at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens in Claremore, under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service. Junus died Saturday, June 15, at his home at the age of 81. The son of William John and Ruthie Rhuanna Knight Bentley was born March 4, 1921 in Prague, Okla. The family moved to the Claremore area when Junus was 7 years old and Junus attended Sequoyah schools. He married Gussie Pearl Bradshaw on June 7, 1941 in Claremore. Junus served in the U.S. Army in Japan during World War II, and was a member of the VFW. Junus raised his family on a farm along with working various construction jobs. In 1967, he started National Construction Company and is well known for many of the bridges and streets in Rogers County. Many of the men working today in concrete construction have been mentored by Mr. Bentley. He was saved as a young man and baptized in Blue Creek in the 1940s. He and Gussie are members of Foyil Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, youth leader and Sunday School teacher and director. The church youth always looked forward to seeing him as he always had a bag of candy. Junus enjoyed woodwork crafts, gardening, hunting and fishing and especially playing with the grandkids. He touched many lives with his generosity, love and kind heartedness; always showing a deep abiding love for God. If everyone had a husband and father like Junus, what a wonderful world this would be. Junus is preceded in death by his father, W.J.
