Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1-8 p.m. Tuesday. Ruth died Sunday, Jan. 26, at Claremore Regional Hospital at the age of 79. The daughter of Bird and Doshia Mae Copeland Delp was born Feb. 8, 1923 in Claremore, where she remained throughout her life. She attended Claremore schools and in 1950 married Lee Howard. Lee died in 1986 and in 1992, Ruth married Hubert Bowman. Ruth worked many jobs while raising her family, including, factory work at a luggage plant, Heston's and McClellan's Department Store in Claremore. Ruth loved children; she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and everyone else's children. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Lee Howard and Hubert Bowman, brothers, Bill, Allen and George Delp, sister, Golda Sellmeyer, and brothers- in-law, Gerald Gouard and Elmer Bell. Ruth is survived by her children, Helen Kay Owen and Phyllis Spurlock and husband, Dean, all of Inola, grandchildren, Allen Ray Owen of Claremore, Kelly Hall and husband, Leonard of Inola, great-grandchildren, Samantha, Joshua, Anna, and Abigail, step-grandchildren, Susie Spurlock of Inola, Bobby Spurlock and wife, Quetta of Pryor and Larry Spurlock and wife, Joletta of Inola, step-great-grandchildren, Allison and Larry Walter, and sisters, Deloris Gable and husband, Leonard, Patricia Gouard, Thelma Carriger and Helen Bell, all of Claremore and Fannie Cross and husband, Donald of Sapulpa.
