"Sugar" Brady Services for Ina B. "Sugar" Brady will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2002 at Memorial Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Simpson and Rev. Lee Leatherman officiating. Burial will follow at Owalla Cemetery under the direction of Rice Funeral Service. Friends may visit at the funeral home until 8 p.m. this evening. Sugar passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2002. She was 63. Born in the Fisher Bottoms area of Sand Springs on June 22, 1938, Sugar's parents were Joseph and Eula Banks Cannon. She was reared and educated in Wagoner, graduating from high school in 1955. Sugar and classmate Dale Brady dated during their high school years but after graduation each went their separate way. Sugar married and became the mother of three children. She worked as a secretary for many years, supporting her small family. Ina was employed by Victor Federal, Western Hills Lodge and the Wagoner County District Attorney's office. On July 1, 1980, she and Dale, her high school sweetheart, met again and just weeks later, on Aug. 15, they began their life together with a Muskogee wedding ceremony. Sugar and Dale, on a vacation in Gunnison, Colo., decided to become the owners of the "Tall Texan," an RV campground that they managed for many years, until their retirement in 1994. Moving back to Claremore to be close to family, Sugar delighted in the close relationship she was able to maintain with her grandchildren. Unable to pronounce Sugar, a grandson affectionately called her "Cuger," and the name stuck. Each grandchild had their own special meal that grandma prepared just for them. Sugar was an expert cook and canning was her specialty. She won a number of ribbons at the Rogers County Fair for her canned goods. Though Oklahoma born, Sugar loved the desert and the mountains. She visited all but three of the 50 states. She loved country music - the louder the better. Besides traveling, crocheting, painting, gardening and reading, Sugar was a fisher, and when she "grew up," she wanted to be a B52 pilot. Those who survived this amazing woman are her husband, Dale of their home in Claremore; daughter, Kim Wiley of Claremore; son, Robbie Hancock and wife Karie of Guymon, Okla.; grandchildren, Curt and Chris Hancock of Wagoner, Nick Wiley and wife Jesse of Rogers, Ark., Lane Wiley of Claremore, Shaylee Hancock and "Little Joe" Hancock of Guymon; mother, Eula Fagg of Tulsa; brother, James "Sonny" Cannon and wife Judy of Mounds, Okla.; sisters, Wanda Odom and husband Walter of Sand Springs, Tricia Gaddy and husband Don of Skiatook and Londa Albert and husband Michael of Prue, Okla.; sisters-in-law, Hazel Choate of Tulsa, Jane McKinney of Tulsa and Virgie Brady of Wagoner; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. ************************************************************************* We thank the Claremore Progess Newspaper for allowing us to post these obits on the Rogers Co., OK USGenwebpages http://www.claremoreprogress.com/ *************************************************************************
