Charles Sandlin officiating. Burial will follow at Chelsea Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Sunday 1-6 p.m. Mellie died Wednesday evening at Claremore Regional Hospital at the age of 96. The daughter of J.E. and Mattie Abel Dick was born Jan. 6, 1906 in Hulbert, Oklahoma Indian Territory. Mellie married Charles Burlingame in 1926 in Nowata. She moved to Claremore in 1979 from St. Charles, Mo., and was a member of the New Hope Church of God. Mellie enjoyed crocheting, quilting and sewing. She looked forward to the Dick family reunion on Memorial Day in Chelsea. She enjoyed singing at the family gatherings. Mellie is preceded in death by her husband Charles in 1974; her parents; sisters, Goldie Franklin and Ethel Smith; brother, Henry, Bill, Everett and Leon Dick; an infant daughter and her granddaughter Sherry Schrader. She is survived by her sons, Paul Burlingame of Claremore, Billy Joe Burlingame and wife Mary of Claremore, Bob Burlingame and wife Jean of Round Rock, Texas, and Ronnie Dale Burlingame of Nashville, Tenn.; daughters, Ruth Carroll of Moore and Margaret Redman and husband G.T. of St. Peters, Mo.; brother, Leonard Dick of Owasso; sisters, Ada Lea Hargis of Tulsa and Clarice Frakes of Grove; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. ************************************************************************* We thank the Claremore Progess Newspaper for allowing us to post these obits on the Rogers Co., OK USGenwebpages http://www.claremoreprogress.com/ *************************************************************************
