Lillie passed away on Friday, April 5, 2002 at the age of 84. Born in Douglas County, Mo., on Jan. 29, 1918, Lillie was one of 13 siblings. Her parents, Homer and Mae Ousley and their children resided in rural Douglas County and this is where Lillie was reared and educated. In 1939, Lillie and Paul Melton Brown were married and two daughters were born to this union. Much of Lillie's adult life was spent in Oklahoma, including the Grand Lake community, Oklahoma City and Claremore. Lillie enjoyed needlework, including crocheting and quilting. As a member of such a large family, reunion times were especially pleasant. Visiting old home places and sites and reminiscing with her siblings were among her favorite things to do. In 1979, Lillie made a permanent home in Claremore where her sister, Anita, brother-in-law Woody, and their son Robert were able to support and help her in innumerable ways. One of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church's faithful members, she loved her church family. She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Mitchell and Paula Brown, both of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Anita Cruce, her husband Woody and son Robert of Claremore, Zelda Huggans, Bea Brown and husband Bill, all of Pryor; and other siblings who don't reside locally, including Virginia Savings, Bessie Cote, Don, Wayne and Jack Ousley. She was preceded in death by siblings Faye Forrest, Terry Ousley and Carre Ousley. ************************************************************************* We thank the Claremore Progess Newspaper for allowing us to post these obits on the Rogers Co., OK USGenwebpages http://www.claremoreprogress.com/ *************************************************************************
