Archives. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/rogers/rogers.htm *********************************************************************** CLARA DRAEGER CHERRINGTON Clara Cherrington, 86 Chelsea, died Saturday, March 8, 1986 at the Claremore Regional Medical Center. Services are Tuesday, March 11, 1986 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Chelsea with burial in the Chelsea Cemetary under the direction of Musgrove- Merriott-Smith Funeral Service. Mrs Cherrington was born March 28, 1899 in Clermont, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Amelia Burrow Draeger. She came to Chelsea in 1902 when she was only 3 years old, being to small to remember her native state. Chelsea has always been home to her, the place where she grew up and attended school. The Cherringtons moved to Longview, Texas, in 1936, returning to Chelsea in 1955 to retire. She married Chester A. Cherrington June 20, 1917, who died September 16, 1984. Her only son, Chester, Jr. was killed in England in 1944 serving his country. She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she was active working in various departments while health permitted. She was an honorary member of the American Legion Auxilliary, also a Gold Star Mother. Survivors are nephews; Harold Draeger, Sapulpa, Everett, Ray and Roy Draeger, Chelsea and Billy Gene Draeger, Sandsprings, nieces; Pauline Bodinger of Mesa Arizona, Arizona and Joella Tidwell, Claremore. ***********************************************************************
