Family will be there to receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Aggie passed away on Monday, April 22, 2002 at her home. She was 77. Born March 7, 1925 in Redfork, Okla., to Isaac and Minerva Stewart King, Aggie was reared and educated in Tulsa and Catoosa, graduating from Will Rogers High School. After high school, Aggie set out for California for a time. There she was employed as a nanny, her great love for children already evident. Back in Tulsa thereafter, Aggie just happened to need a ride home at precisely the right moment for William Henry Denney to come to her rescue. He provided the ride and the rest is history. On Dec. 9, 1948, the couple married in Tulsa. Residing in Tulsa until 1959, they then moved to Claremore and this has been home ever since. Two daughters joined Aggie and Bill's family and her life was devoted to raising them. However, she did find time to do some part-time work as a secretary for Jones Truck Line, as a telephone operator, as a clerk in a dress shop and as a cook. It seems there wasn't much that Aggie couldn't do. On Jan. 7, 1983, Bill passed away. Aggie had many friends who, along with her family, helped to fill this void. These personal connections were invaluable for both Aggie and her circle of friends. She kept busy caring for others, particularly her grandchildren who were the light of her life. She was known as the "fun grandma," who was always willing to play a game or bake a batch of her trademark chocolate chip cookies. Aggie enjoyed fishing, bingo, walks and was a great letter writer. However, the care she so lovingly provided to those children fortunate enough to have been part of her life will be her legacy. Aggie is survived by her daughters, Terri Atkins of Oregon and Connie Nickles- Robertson of Claremore; grandchildren, Tony Atkins and wife Liza, Debbie Gilbert and husband James, all of Oregon, Justin Atkins and wife Nikki of Alaska, Amy Eubanks and husband Marty of Claremore, and Carrie Bartholic and husband Ben of Texas; great-grandchildren Dani and Mia Atkins, Tessa and Cheyenne Gilbert, all of Oregon, and Taylor Eubanks of Claremore; sister, Doris Yingst of Owasso; sister- in-law, Jeanne Stinnett; and many loved nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Denney; grandson, Bradley William Nickles; son- in-law Phil Atkins; granddaughter, Stefanie Atkins; great-granddaugter, baby Grace; grandson, Michael Philip Atkins; brothers, Austin King, Bert King and Roy King, and sisters, Anna Coleman, Stella Adair and Frances Bell. After the service, family and friends are gathering for a life celebration in remembrance of Aggie Denney at Claremore Lake. Please bring a sack lunch and come celebrate with the family. In the event of inclement weather, the gathering will be at First Christian Church. Memorial contributions in Aggie's memory may be made to the First Christian Church, Building Fund, 200 E. Fifth St., Claremore. ************************************************************************* We thank the Claremore Progess Newspaper for allowing us to post these obits on the Rogers Co., OK USGenwebpages http://www.claremoreprogress.com/ *************************************************************************
