Draeger, a Chelsea resident for the past 73 years, died Friday afternoon at a Claremore Hospital. He was 83. Born in Claremont, Iowa, Aug 30, 1892, Mr. Draeger was an early day Chelsea grocer. After 25 years in this career, he retired and launched a second career, going to work for Phillips Milam Oil Company and serving as field forman for 25 years. A charter member of the First Christian Church in Chelsea, Mr Draeger served as Sunday School superintendent for many years and was active in his church. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. today at the Christian Church. Burial will be in Chelsea Cemetary under the direction of Paul Merriott Funeral Service. Mr Draeger is survived by two sons, Roy and Ray, both of Chelsea; two daughters, Louise Mcspadden, Chelsea, and Joella Tidwell, Claremore; two brothers, Otto Draeger, Houston, Tex., and Herman Draeger, Monument, Colo.; a sister, Clara Cherrington, Chelsea; and seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. ***********************************************************************
