Aileen passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2002. She was 80. Born in Rome, Mo., to Luther and Della Osborn Huffman on Dec. 5, 1921, Aileen was reared and educated in and around her birth community. Soon after her years at Ava High School, Aileen and Elbert Franklin married. Their wedding ceremony was Aug. 24, 1940 at Smackout, Mo. Four children were born to this union: Larry, Shirley, Dianna and Anita. Seymour, Mo. was home for the Franklin family through the years. When she left Seymour, Aileen made her home in Springfield and it was here that she became reacquainted with a former Rome, Mo., resident, and, after a time of courtship, Aileen and Mack Ellison were married in 1970. So both of these former Missourians enjoyed their home in Claremore on Mack's farm in the Blue Creek area. After Mack passed away in 1977, Aileen continued making her home at the farm until 1998 when she moved into town, where she resided until her health made it necessary for her to take advantage of nursing home facilities. Tulsa was chosen to allow her to be nearer her family. Friendly and outgoing, Aileen enjoyed people, particularly her treasured family. She was active in her church and at the senior center where she had many friends. Aileen is survived by her daughters, Dianna Spradling of Lebanon, Mo., and Anita Franklin of Tulsa; eight grandchildren; 10 great-granchildren, including Stormy Ross, born on Sunday, March 24, 2002; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Ruth Mitchell of Seymour, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mack; son, Larry, and daughter, Shirley; two brothers; two grandsons; and special friend, Jack Williamson. Those wishing to honor Aileen's memory may do so by contributing to the First Assembly of God Building Fund, P.O. Box 56, Claremore OK 74018. ************************************************************************* We thank the Claremore Progess Newspaper for allowing us to post these obits on the Rogers Co., OK USGenwebpages http://www.claremoreprogress.com/ *************************************************************************
