Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church Sanctuary with Dr. Larry Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery with military rites by Grove Veterans Ritual Team. Arrangements are by Burckhalter Funeral Home. Mr. Elrod was born June 13, 1941, in Denison, the son of Paul and Christine Elrod. He served in the Marine Corps from 1959 to 1963. He spent some of his time in the Cuban Missile Crisis. His rank when he left the Marines was Corporal E-4. He was a member of VFW. In 1971, he started working for UPS in Big Cabin, Okla. He started work in the package car division and worked his way to feeder driver where he remained for 30 years. He loved Feeders and did not want to change. He had many friends he talked to on the road from Oklahoma City to Lebanon, Mo. He received many awards from UPS including Safe Driving, Loyal Service Award and he was in the Circle of Honor. He had many friends and very few enemies. His outgoing, friendly and cheerful personality had made a mark on very many people, and he will be missed by family and friends alike. Survivors include his wife, Janice; two sons, Mark Ray Elrod and Matthew Donald Elrod and wife, Christina Lynn, all of Chelsea; three grandchildren, Jamison Patrick Elrod, Brandon Lee Elrod and Camrie Dawn Elrod, all of Chelsea; and his brothers and sisters, Bobby Dean Adams and Jerry Paul Elrod, both of Borger, Texas, Danna Rowe of Oregon and Terry Dan Elrod of Wichita Falls, Texas. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home *************************************************************************
