She was 57. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 2002 at the United Pentecostal Church in Chelsea. Reverends James Renfro and Rick Nance officiated. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery, Vinita. A visitation was from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the Burckhalter Funeral Home. Janice was born Nov. 29, 1945 in Vinita to Austin and Ruth (Cook) Green. She attended Vinita Schools and graduated with the class of 1963. She attended nursing school and worked as a home health care nurse. Janice was the widow of Donald Ray Elrod, who passed away July 11, 2002. Her father, a baby and one brother, "Poody" Green, also preceded her in death. Surviving family members include her mother, Ruth Jenkins of Vinita; sons, Mark Ray Elrod and Matthew Donald Elrod and wife Christina, all of Chelsea; sisters, Leona James and husband Jesse of Tulsa and Lavona Ashford and husband, Melvin of Broken Arrow; brother, Gene Green and wife, fern of Vinita; and grandchildren, Jamison Patrick Elrod, Brandon Lee Elrod and Camrie Dawn Elrod.
