Wanda Verleen Erwin

Services for Wanda Verleen Erwin will be 10 a.m. Friday, January 3, 2003 at 
Owalla Road Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery in 
Shawnee, under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service. 
Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday 1-8 p.m., The family will
greet friends from 1-8 p.m.

Mrs. Erwin passed away December 30, 2002, at her home in Claremore at the 
age of 81.

The daughter of Garfield and Isabelle Purvis was born September 3, 1921. 

As a young girl she lived in rural Iowa where she attended Story County Public 
Schools. 

A few years later she met Louis Erwin, a young military man. May 31, 
1941, they were married in Junction City, Kan. 

As a young military couple they traveled around from state to state before 
settling in Shawnee, Okla . In 1980, Louis passed away and Wanda moved to 
Claremore to be near her son. 

She was a member of the Owalla Road Baptist Church, where she belonged to 
a women's prayer group known as the "dipsticks." She loved her family and 
her Lord, and was glad to share her beliefs with others.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis Erwin; son, Louis 
Erwin Jr.,; and daughter, Linda Marie Johnson.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, David and Rebekah Erwin of 
Claremore, daughter and son-in-law, Francis and Spencer Clinkenbeard of Aurora, 
Colo., son-in-law, Allan Johnson of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Alicia 
and Charles Phillips, Jeremy and Hillary Erwin, Isaac and Lindsey Erwin, Aaron 
Erwin, Joy and Robert Nelson, LaDonna and Stacy McAlister, Cindy and Jeremy 
Pratt, James and Marie Johnson and great-grandchildren, Joshua and Caleb 
Johnson, 
Lindsay and Jordon Perkins, Joshua Dickerson, Will Grover, Joshua and Jesse 
Phillips, 
Alexzander Erwin and Aydan Erwin.
