All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Rose Hill Cemetery--OKC OK Felts Jr., George Noel George Noel Felts, Jr., 81, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 12, 2004. George was born on July 16, 1923. After spending his early childhood in Claremore, Oklahoma, George and his family moved to Oklahoma City, where he graduated from Classen High School with the class of 1942. George attended the University of Oklahoma after high school, and later left the university to serve in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theatre during WWII as a gunner and machinist mate aboard the U.S.S. Tulagi. His service aboard the Tulagi earned him numerous medals and commendations. After WWII, George had a long and distinguished career in the banking and oil industries. He was very active in the Classen Alumni Association, where he was a past president and helped to organize and run many class reunions. George and his wife of 50 years, Laura Terry Felts, who passed away in 1999, were long time active members of Metropolitan Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, where George served several terms as a Deacon, and where both sang in the choir. George is survived by his brother Don Felts of Oklahoma City; his two sons, G. Terry Felts, of Oklahoma City, and Paul Felts, of Austin, Texas; and his seven grandchildren, Amy, Sarah, Jason, Addie, Austin, Noah and Luke; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation is at the Hahn Cook Street & Draper Funeral Home, N. Grand at Classen, beginning noon Thursday, October 14, and all day Friday October 15. Services will be Saturday, Oct. 16, at 10:00 a.m. at the Metropolitan Baptist Church, 7201 W. Britton Rd., with interment to follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery.
