PARK HILL-
Funeral services for Ross R. Farmer Sr. 68, of Park Hill will be held at 2 p.m. 
Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002 at the Reed-Culver Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Carey 
and Rev. Jerry Henson officiating.  
Ross R Farmer Sr. was born July 8, 1933 in Claremore, the son of Lawrence and 
Ollie Mae Bean (Lewis) Farmer and he passed from this life on Wednesday, Feb. 
20, 2002 at his home.  
He grew up at Shady Grove and attended school at Shady Grove and Hulbert, 
graduating in 1952.  
Following graduation, Ross joined the U.S. Navy and served aboard the USS 
Shangri-La Aircraft Carrier.  
Farmer worked as a masonry instructor and construction superintendent with the 
Cherokee Nation for 10 years.  
He was a tile setter and construction superintendent for Ballard International 
and Tile Tank Co. for about 19 years; building processing tanks in the paper 
mills both in the southern and northern states.  
Most recently, he was a self-employed brick and stone mason.  
Ross has helped many young men get started in the masonry field.  
Ross enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He loved being with his family, especially 
his grandchildren.  
Ross enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in various sporting activities 
and bragged that they got their abilities from him.  
Ross was a very loving husband and father.  
He was always willing to help anyone.  
Ross was preceded in death by his parents and three daughters, Rebecca Ann Farmer, 
Krystal Lynn Farmer, and Phyllis Lee Henson.  
Survivors are his wife Barbara of the home, seven daughters and their spouses, Wanda 
Johnson and husband Ronnie, of Hulbert; Tina Farmer of Tahlequah; Susan Ledbetter and 
David of Hulbert; Rosie Kinnikin and husband Wesley of Haskell; Rosa McClure and 
husband Lonnie of Hulbert; Angela Farmer of Muskogee; and Donna Grant and husband 
Terry of Tahlequah; five sons and their spouses, Roger Farmer and wife Janet of 
Hulbert; Joe Farmer of Lost City; Jeff Thomas and wife Angie of  Tulsa; Mike Thomas 
and Aaron Thomas of Tahlequah; 27 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; a special 
friend Doc Fetzer of Chattanooga, Tenn.; as well as many other relatives, loved ones 
and friends.
Burial will follow at the Tahlequah City Cemetery with military honors presented by the US Navy.  
Services are under the direction of the Reed-Culver Funeral Home.  
Pallbearers are Roger Farmer, Joe Farmer, David Ledbetter, Lonnie McClure, Wesley 
Kinnikin, Jeff  Thomas, Ronnie Johnson and Luther Henson.  
Honorary pallbearers include Kevin Glenn, Jeremy Boston, Jos McClure, Josh Masters, 
Shorty McClure, Greg Glenn, James Morgan, Justin Farmer, Josheph Farmer Jr., Jordan 
Thomas, Jason Simmons, Brandon Simmons, Austin Grant and Anthony Thomas.
