He was 86. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God in Claremore. Interment will be in Sageeyah. Born July 8, 1916, Charles was the former owner of Hanes Shoe Service in Tulsa for more than 50 years. A Tulsa resident, Charles was a longtime member of the Tulsa and Sand Springs gun clubs and flew planes out of Harvey Young Airport. He is survived by his wife Tina; children, Shirley Smith of Tulsa, Charles Edward of Atlanta, Ga., Judy Thornton of Brooksville, Fla., and Linda Reynolds of Dunnellon, Fla. 11 grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Armstrong; brothers, Joe and Phillip Hanes and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant twin son, Nathan; five brothers; one sister and parents, Charles and Letitia Hanes, of Claremore.
