Burial followed at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Chelsea Funeral Home. Darrell died Friday, May 3 at his home at the age of 45 after a prolonged illness. The son of David Oliver and Louise Fay Fultz Hardt was born Jan. 14, 1957 in Bisbee, Ariz. Darrell attended Naco Elementary in Bisbee and graduated from Silver City High School in Silver City, N.M., in 1975. In 1974, Darrell married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Ellen Cooper. They made their home in Silver City for nine years, where Darrell worked for Phelps Dodge Corporation doing shovel repair. The family then moved to Albuquerque, N.M., and later Claremore. They lived in Claremore for the next eight years, and in November 1998, moved to Chelsea. Darrell owned Hardt Installations, installing shielded MRI rooms. He enjoyed reading, fishing and making silver and turquoise jewelry. Darrell especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He often could be found driving his tractor with his grandchildren. He enjoyed combing his granddaughter, Riann's hair, every evening after her bath. Darrell is survived by his wife, Dorothy; son, Daniel Oliver Hardt and wife Amanda of Claremore; daughter, Barbara April Rachel Hassell of Chelsea; parents, David and Louise Hardt of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; maternal grandparents, Albert and Cloma Leachet of Safford, Ariz.; brother, Ivan Thomas Hardt and wife Shannon of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; sisters, Nina Herbert of Sierra Vista, Ariz. and Gay Jeanette Cole and husband Glen of Virden, N.M.; grandchildren, Preston, Taylin, Creedon, and Riann Hassell, all of Chelsea; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. ************************************************************************* We thank the Claremore Progess Newspaper for allowing us to post these obits on the Rogers Co., OK USGenwebpages http://www.claremoreprogress.com/ *************************************************************************
