Pastor Don Hanson will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from noon to 8 p.m. Jim passed away on Monday, June 3, 2002. He was 54. Born on May 1, 1948 to Jim and Marjorie Grady Jobe in Fayetteville, Ark., Jim was reared and educated in Jonesboro. He graduated high school in 1966 and went on to college for a time before entering the Air Force. Injured stateside during the Vietnam War, Jim was honorably released and following in his father's footsteps, went into jewelry sales with the Zales Company. A transfer to Tulsa with the company provided the meeting place for Jim and his future bride, Claremore native, Brenda Kay Roy. The couple were married on Aug. 3, 1972 in Neosho, Mo. They were blessed with four children. Jim ventured into machine work and in the 1980s began training to become an electrician. He loved his new career and was employed by Colburn Electric. In 1983, Jim brought Brenda back to her hometown and all four of the children completed their high school years in Claremore. His favorite recreational activity was bowling, a sport that he excelled at and took very seriously. He was eager to share this passion with his children and coached them intensely. A strong-willed and determined individual, Jim was extremely proud of his children. Jim was a member of Victory Christian Center. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Jobe of Claremore; children, Ronnie Jobe and wife Kristi of Broken Arrow, Dina Sowells and husband Bill of Claremore, Jennifer Jobe of Stillwater and "J.R." Jobe Jr. of Claremore, a 2002 graduate of Claremore High School; grandchildren, Evan Jobe and a baby brother or sister on the way, of Broken Arrow, Heather Sowells of Tulsa, Bradley, William and Brynnan Sowells, all of Claremore; great-grandson, Braden Sowells of Claremore; brother, "Bob" Jobe and wife Sharon of Wichita, Kan.; nieces Sherry Smith and husband Gaylon of Wichita and Kelly Mingle and husband Greg, also of Wichita; nephew, Kelly Jobe and wife Shannon of Wichita.
