Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today. Shannon and his wife, Leanne, passed away in an automobile accident on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002. He was 35. Shannon was born on Aug. 4, 1967 in Cleveland, Okla., to Merle and Nancy Norton Lucas. His first eight years were spent in Cleveland, then the family moved to nearby Terlton, where Shannon attended school through the sixth grade. He graduated from Cleveland High School. After completing his schooling, Shannon was employed harvesting wheat. His next employment was at UPCO near Claremore. Subsequently, he was employed as a truck driver and this occupation provided him with the opportunity to meet his future wife, Leanne. In June of 2002 they were married and had recently received the welcome news that a child was on the way. Shannon lived life to the fullest. He had a special, loving relationship with his family. He made life fun and touched the lives of many, including those who survive him. They are his parents, Merle and Nancy Lucas of Jennings, Okla.; sister, Ladonna Lucas-Mills and brother Jason Lucas, also of Jennings; nieces and nephews, Dustin Lucas, Kayla Shelton, Tristin and Bailey Mills, China, Rheannan and Bryer Lucas; step-daughters, Deanna and Stacey Points and stepson, Zachary Harader.
