Dr. Burrel McNaught, associate pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Edmond. Mrs. McChesney died Friday, May 17, 2002 at Sunset Estates Nursing Center in El Reno. She was born on Sept. 15, 1905 in Banner, Okla., to parents Thomas and Rosa Belle (Patterson) Muir. Mildred grew up in El Reno and was a graduate of El Reno High School. She attended and was a graduate of Hills Business College in Oklahoma City. Mildred had lived in Claremore for 27 years and Tulsa for 30 years before retiring to El Reno in 1986. Mrs. McChesney had worked as a secretary for Long Bell Lumber Company, Downtown Chevrolet, Standard Life Insurance Company and had also worked for the Oklahoma Publishing Company. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, the Tulsa Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, American Business and Professional Women's Club, Oklahoma Painting and Contractors of America, the El Reno Study Club, Charter member of Galatea, the United Methodist Women and was a former member of the Methodist Church in Claremore. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Russell Muir, Alvin Muir, Bull Muir and Henry Muir; and two husbands, Lee A. Shipman and R.E. McChesney. Survivors include adopted sons, Thomas Joe Muir of Tucson, Ariz., and Russell Edward and wife Laverne Muir of El Reno and many other nieces, nephews and friends.. The family suggests memorials be made to either the El Reno Mobile Meals, P.O. Box 879, El Reno, OK 73036 or to Russell-Murray Hospice, 221 S.
