Willie Rice officiating. Irene passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2002 at the Tulsa Regional Medical Center. Irene was born Feb. 25, 1914 in Nashville, Ark., to Joe and Grace Redman. At an early age, her family moved to the Tahlequah area. Irene lived in Claremore for some time before moving to Wagoner, where she lived most of her life. She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Wagoner. Irene loved her life as a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Along with raising children, she also loved to raise roses. Irene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Joe in 1975; daughter, Pearl Dye; sons, Eugene and Floyd McCollum; and by all of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by nine sons, Ray, Jerry, Cornell, Willis, Guy, Shelby, Bobby, Mike and Billy McCollum; five daughters, Beulah Sullivan, Betty Ruth McCollum, Willie Mae Pilkington, Geraldine Hall and Jackie Kirk; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and a great number of great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
